Alejandro Cortez went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2022 at the age of 41 years.
Alex is survived in death by his son, Alexander Gage Cortez; his loving parents, Gerardo G. Cortez Sr. and Margarita Castellano Cortez; his siblings, Gerardo C. Cortez Jr. and spouse Jennifer Elmore Cortez, Roberto I. Cortez and spouse Ximena Riveros Cortez, Amanda Cortez Delgado and spouse Uriahn Delgado; his 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles who loved him immeasurably.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Francisco and Manuela Castellano; his paternal grandparents, Jesus M. Cortez and Julia Garza; and his uncle, Gaspar G. Cortez.
Alex was a talented athlete and fisherman who would love to be remembered for his charm and good looks and not remembered for his imperfect teeth!
Those who knew and loved him will reminisce of his enormous heart, his charisma, his talent for all things, his beautiful smile, and his joyous spirit and love for the Lord.
In his last days, no matter his circumstance, he was an ambassador for Jesus and shared the love of Christ with those around him.
We can only imagine the glory by which he is now surrounded by and we long for the day we can be reunited with him again in paradise.
