Alan C. Colombo, a devoted culinary professional and passionate golf enthusiast, passed away on January 23, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on February 15, 1949, in Marlboro, Massachusetts, Alan's journey through life was marked by a commitment to his career, humor that warmed the hearts of those around him, and a deeply rooted passion for various pastimes.

Alan dedicated the majority of his professional life to the culinary arts, first establishing himself as a sous-chef at Sonterra, where he honed his skills and delighted patrons with his culinary creations. After his successful tenure at Sonterra, he continued to showcase his talents at the Oak Hills Country Club, furthering his reputation as a skilled and passionate chef. In the latter part of his career, Alan transitioned to H-E-B, where he worked within several departments for 15 years, displaying his versatility and dedication to quality service.

Beyond his professional life, Alan was a man of many interests. He was an avid golfer, often spending up to five days a week on the course, further emphasizing his love for the outdoors. An enthusiast of adventure, he also enjoyed skiing and had a particular affection for his Corvette, which mirrored his vibrant personality. Alan's love for cooking extended beyond his profession; it was a way for him to connect with family and friends, sharing meals and laughter alike.

Alan's life was enriched by the companionship of his beloved bird, Ozzy, who brought joy into his daily routine. His good sense of humor and jovial nature endeared him to many, making him a cherished friend and colleague.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Frances Colombo, and parents Carl and Irene Colombo.

Alan is survived by his sons Alan Colombo II (Carol), Christopher Colombo (Laurie), and Brain Colombo; and his brother Robert Colombo (Maretina); grandchildren Devin, Miranda, Shelby, Michael, Kelli, Kaylee, Francesca, and Evie; and numerous friends and extended family. 

Alan C. Colombo leaves behind a legacy of culinary passion, adventurous spirit, and an unwavering fondness for those he loved. His contributions to the culinary community and the smiles he brought to those around him will be fondly remembered.
