Alejandro Flores Alvarado, a beloved member of the San Antonio community, passed away on January 15, 2025, at age of 83. Born on July 31, 1941, in San Antonio, Alejandro dedicated his life to serving others and creating lasting memories with his family and friends.
A proud veteran, Alejandro served in the United States Army, where he demonstrated remarkable bravery and commitment to his country. He was honored with several accolades, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After his military service, Alejandro transitioned into a career in roofing, where he worked with dedication and skill later in his life. His work ethic and craftsmanship left a lasting impact on those who knew him and the projects he undertook.
Alejandro had a passion for music, particularly enjoying playing the guitar. The melodies he created resonated not only through the strings of his instrument but also in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of hearing him play. His love for music will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving children Ignacio Alvarado (Anjelica) , Juan Alvarado (Adriana) , Ina Garza(Arthur) , and Patricia Alvarado, as well as his dear sister Gloria Puente. Alejandro was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, cherished by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life.
Alejandro is preceded in death by his father Alfredo Alvarado, his mother Petra Alvarado, and his sister Angelina Cardona. Their memories will forever be a part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on January 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels-South, located at 3520 South Flores Street in San Antonio, TX. A Rosary Service will take place that same evening, starting at 6:30 PM. Additional services will continue on January 31, 2025, with a chapel service beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a burial at San Jose Burial Park at 11:30 AM.
As we commemorate Alejandro's remarkable life, we honor his service, his artistry, and the love he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
