Alton Henry Sonny Pressler, Jr., 77, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Sonny was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.
Sonny was born in Port Arthur, Texas, October 20, 1933. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and briefly attended Rice University in Houston. He returned to Port Arthur where he started his own business, Pressler Motors. He later worked at numerous automobile dealerships in Galveston, Beaumont, Houston and San Antonio. Sonny loved the water and his favorite hobby was fishing and crabbing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Annette and Alton Henry Pressler, and daughter, Julie Pressler Ault. He is survived by his wife Karen; his children Jo Ellen Dietz and husband Bob, Alton H. Pressler, III, James Eric Blue Pressler and wife Kimberly; step-children Eric Marquardt, Shauna Forkenbrock and husband Mike,and Leif Marquardt ; grandchildren, Callie Wahl Denbigh, Kolby Wahl, Joshua Ault, Porscha Pressler, Cameron Pressler, and Madison Pressler; step-granddaughter Gracie Marquardt; brother, James W. Pressler and wife Patsy of McComb, Miss; and four nephews.
A memorial service to honor Sonny will be held at 3:00 Monday, January 10, 2011 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio. A reception will immediately follow at University United Methodist Church.
