Amanda Jean Day

Amanda (Mandy) Jean Day was born on May 12, 1999 in San Antonio, Texas. She passed away too soon on March 28, 2021, at the young age of 21, due to a severe asthma attack. She was a beloved daughter, devoted sister, sweet granddaughter, loving aunt, special niece, and an amazing cousin. Mandy is survived by her parents Martin P. Day and Nadia J. Irwin, and big brother Zackery L. Day. She also leaves behind her sweet nephew River L. Day, grandmothers Sandra Day and Hlalia Irwin, aunts Samara Irwin Makinsi, Jennifer Irwin, Tamara Day Martin, Kelly Day, uncles Mohamed L. Irwin and Michael Day, along with many cousins and dear friends .

Mandy will be remembered as someone who cared unconditionally about all beings as shown by her love for the countless animals she adopted or cared for, along with her decision to pursue a career in the medical field. She obtained her Certified Nurses Aid certification and was in college pursuing a degree as a Registered Nurse. In her passing, she continued to show her compassion and selflessness through giving the ultimate gift of life as an organ donor.

She dearly loved her family and friends, her dog Lucky, the color blue, had a sparkling and outgoing personality, and loved to be silly. She was always laughing and had the most beautiful smile that would light up a room. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who loved her and may her beautiful memory live eternal.

Mandy was preceded in death by her grandfathers, and the family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with Levern M. Irwin (3.28.11) and Raymond. E. Day (3.21.20).
