Anna Maria Gamez

Anna Maria Gamez, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 after a 9-month struggle against cancer at the age of 50. Anna was born in Gonzales, Texas on February 24, 1961 and she also lived in Laredo, Texas before settling down in San Antonio, Texas where she became a registered nurse. She was the Director of Nursing of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. She is preceded in death by her father David, and her brother Alberto. She is survived by her husband Luis, son Andres, daughter Amanda, mother Maria Paula Romanos, sister Gloria (Luis) Quiroz, brothers, David (Norma), Jose Luis (Olga), Alfredo (Cleo), and Oscar (Anna), sister-in-law Mary. She is also survived by many other family and friends. Special thanks to the Metropolitan Hospital staff, the Alamo Heights Rehabilitation Center staff, and all neighbors, family, friends. In lieu of flowers, in order to continue Anna's work with newborns please send your donations to the March of Dimes organization.

Visitation:
Visitation will begin Friday, July 1st from 3pm unti 8pm with Holy Rosary at 6:30pm at Puente Sons - Northeast (14315 Judson Road). Visitation will continue Sunday, July 3rd from 4pm until 9pm with Holy Rosary at 7pm at Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave., Laredo, Texas.

Service:
A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church in Laredo, Texas.
