It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Armando Garcia Salazar Sr., who departed this life in San Antonio, Texas on January 14, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on July 16, 1964, in San Antonio, Armando was a beloved figure known for his happy-go-lucky nature and his big heart. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, exemplifying kindness and generosity throughout his life.
Armando was not only a devoted father to his two sons, Armando Jr. and Angel Salazar, but also a cherished brother to Richard, Robert, Gilbert (Jeneace); as well as his sisters, Sylvia (Danny) Urive, Anita (Richard) Castillo, Yolanda (Tom) Perez, Mary Alice (Joe) Salazar, and Dolores (Gustavo) Pena. The bonds of family were paramount to him, and he fostered relationships that will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He is joined in heaven with his loving parents Frank Sr. and Emma Salazar, and his brothers Frank Jr. and Abel Salazar.
An avid cooking enthusiast, Armando found joy in preparing meals for his loved ones. His passion for the New York Yankees was also well-known, as he celebrated every home run like a personal victory. These hobbies provided him with a sense of fulfillment and allowed him to share joy with family and friends.
A Mass in memory of Armando will be held at Our Lady of the Angels, located at 1214 Stonewall Street, San Antonio, Texas, on February 7, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, a graveside service will take place at San Fernando Cemetery No. II, located at 746 Castroville Road, San Antonio, Texas, starting at 11:30 AM.
Armando Garcia Salazar Sr. will be remembered not only for the love he shared but also as a spirit that brightened the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
