Arturo Mendez Casias born August 31, 1948 lost his battle with cancer on September 17, 2017 at the age of 69. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Elena Casias, also by his brothers, Roman and Santiago and sister, Apolina. Arturo is survived by his sons, Jacob (Jeanette) and Steven Lee Casias; beloved grandchildren, Jayden, Asher, and Sophia; ex-wife and friend, Rosario Guzman; siblings, Francisco, Andres, Elena, Pilar, Maria, Rosa, and Adelina; also by numerous other relatives and good friends. Arturo enlisted and proudly served in the Vietnam War as a tank crewman. After his Army service, he continued to work at Fort Sam Houston until he retired. He loved God, Family, America, Rock-n-Roll music, cowboy show re-runs and the Dallas Cowboys. He had a larger than life personality always making people laugh.
