Awilda Garcia

Awilda Garcia Rodriguez, the definition of kindness and generosity, departed from this world on the 29th of March, 2025, at the age of 67. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in San Antonio, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Her radiant spirit is carried on by her devoted husband, Hector; her four children: Amarilis, Damaris, Vanessa, Hector Hommy, and her sassy chihuahua, Lola. She loved to spend time with her 9 grandchildren, who were her entire world. Her friendly personality and welcoming aura left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A viewing is scheduled at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapel on Judson Rd on Thursday, April 10th from 4pm-8pm. As a proud Puerto Rican, Awilda requested that we celebrate her life by wearing vibrant colors, honoring her spirit with the same warmth and joy that defined her life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her honor.

Awilda García Rodríguez, la personificación de la bondad y la generosidad, partió de este mundo el 29 de Marzo de 2025, a la edad de 67 años. Fue una madre maravillosa que siempre estuvo presente cuando más la necesitábamos, ofreciendo apoyo, sabiduría y amor en abundancia. Amiga de muchos, fue un miembro muy querido de la comunidad de San Antonio, dejando un legado de bondad y fortaleza. Su espíritu radiante continúa vivo gracias a su devoto esposo, Héctor; sus cuatro hijos: Amarilis, Damaris, Vanessa, Héctor Hommy; y su perrita, Lola. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus nueve nietos, quienes eran su mundo entero. Su personalidad amigable y su aura acogedora dejaron una huella imborrable en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron el placer de conocerla.

El velatorio está programado en la Funeraria Puente & Sons en Judson Rd el Jueves 10 de Abril de 4 p.m. a 8 p.m. Como puertorriqueña orgullosa, Awilda pidió que celebráramos su vida vistiendo colores vibrantes, honrando su espíritu con la misma calidez y alegría que la caracterizaron. En lugar de flores, por favor, haga una donación a la Sociedad Americana del Cáncer en su honor.
