Barbara Jean Windham (Annis) would like her friends and family to know that her
work here on earth was completed on June 10th, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. She began her assignment November 1, 1936 born to Ernest O. Annis and Lillie M. Annis. She was a sister to Virginia E. Leeper (Annis), and a sister-in-law to her husband Richard Leeper, an Aunt to Jim Leeper, Connie Leeper,
and Karen Gaalema. She grew up and lived her life in Bremen, Indiana. She married her high school sweetheart John M. Windham. They were married 60 years. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2014. She had two children; Stephen J. Windham who also preceded her in death, and Cindy K. Leanhart (Jack). She has 6 Grandchildren; Jamie Yoder, Ryan Yoder, Danielle Castro, Gabrielle (Castro)Fonua (Elone), Jessica (Castro) Thomas (Todd), and David Castro (Jalene). Sixteen Great grandchildren; Ashlee, Taylor, Gavin, and Layne Yoder, Mason and Madison Merchant, D.C., Ellie, Alma, Viola, and E. John Charles Fonua, Emma and Lillie Thomas, Rylen, Brantley and Bentley Castro and 1 Great-great grandchild Kassidy Green. She was a sister-in-law to Ron and Mary Ellen Windham and a daughter-in-law to Mary Alice Windham.
Barbara received “THE CALL” late on Wednesday evening; it was an offer she couldn’t refuse, an appointment from which she will not be returning. The new assignment comes with amazing benefits. She will receive a new custom home without a mortgage, all you can eat delicious food where she will never gain an ounce and a garden that she never has to weed. She will be reading to her heart’s content, taking long walks, and listening to Mario Lanza. Her lopsided white cakes will always come out perfectly, her cowboy cookies will be in abundance. There will be a few more plates which she will be setting for Sunday dinners. Acceptance, forgiveness, love and laughter are guaranteed. The biggest bonus, an all-inclusive family reunion; where she will be reunited with her beloved husband John M. Windham and the rest of her family and friends who she hasn’t seen in a very long time. She has left detailed instructions with her daughter Cindy and Grandchildren to celebrate her life. Her mission is now complete.
We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her funny sense of humor, and her love of God, family and friends.
