Our dad was a good man. He loved his family. He was always willing to help any and every one that asked. Our dad had a love for sports too. His favorites were baseball, boxing and soccer. He even played professional baseball in Mexico. Although our dad only had a sixth grade education, he was very smart. He knew how to fix cars, plumbing and electrical among other skills. As a child, I used to love to go to work with him on the weekends. He would have me crawling in attics, fishing wire in the walls, installing light switches, outlets among other things. I remember one day he asked me to install some outlets. I cut him off and told him “I got this”. As I started to connect the wires I was shocked and fell back. I looked over to see him laughing saying “You didn’t let me finish saying the electricity is still on”. Growing up we didn’t have much money but my dad would make toys for us. I loved making kites from bamboo and flying them over the highway. Even though you rarely said the words, I know you loved us and did your best. I’m sorry I never said it to you as much as I should have. I love you and I already miss you.
I would like to thank my sister Rosie and her family. His amazing provider Esther Perez, Four Seasons Hospice Nurse Debra and the whole staff. Words can’t describe how grateful we are for everything you did for our father.
