Betty Jean Jordan Schmidt
(October 7, 1935 - March 27, 2015)
Betty Jean Jordan Schmidt, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2015 at her home in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 79. Betty was born on October 7, 1935 in Stockdale, Texas to Roy and Bessie Jordan.
She graduated from Stockdale High school. Betty met the love of her life, Charles Edward Schmidt from Seguin, Texas. They married on August 27, 1954 and cherished each moment of their 60+ years together.
Betty graduated from San Antonio Beauty College in 1955. She also worked for the North East Independent School District for 19 years. Betty and Charles adopted two children, Kimberly and Jeffrey.
She was an active member of King of Kings Lutheran Church and served in various capacities over the years. Betty loved helping those in need. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, and playing games. She especially enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her father, Roy Jordan and mother Bessie; brother, Weldon Jordan and wife, Marjorie. Sister-in-law, Kathryn Jordan.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; brother, Edwin Jordan; daughter Kimberly Jean Hall and husband Bo; son, Jeffrey Charles Schmidt; granddaughter Jennifer Hall Paragas and husband, Chris; great-granddaughter Rylee Nicole; granddaughter Stephanie Hall; sister-in-law, Shirley Malone and husband, Stanley. Betty Schmidt, Judy Schmidt, Madelyn Schmidt; niece, Jo Lee Williams and husband, Dan; nephews, Weldon Jordan, Roy Jordan and wife, Alane, and nephew Eddie Jordan. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Puente & Sons Mortuary, 14315 Judson Road, San Antonio, Texas from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on April 8, 2015 at 10:00 am at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 13888 Dreamwood Drive, San Antonio, Texas.
