Camilo “Milo” Garcia, a proud veteran of the United States Army and dedicated Retiree from both AT&T and USAA, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024 at the age of 80.
Born on January 30, 1944, in Bogota, Colombia, Camilo grew up with a deep sense of duty and a strong work ethic that would define his life. After moving to the United States, he enlisted into the United States Army, where he served with honor and distinction. Following his military service, Camilo transitioned into civilian life, applying his same dedication and work ethic into his career. Over the next few decades, he held various roles across the information technology industry before retiring in 2014.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always believed in that "tomorrow will be a better day". To say he was a good man would be an understatement. He was an extraordinary man who acted like an ordinary one. There are not enough words to express how much he will be missed. The memories are a timeless treasure that will never be forgotten and forever will be cherished.
Camilo is survived by his wife of 50 years Maria Garcia, Daughter, Diana García-Linville (Rodney), and Son, David Garcia (Leidy) Mother-In-Law, Maria “Suegra” Marquez Grandchildren, Alexis Garcia-Linville, Ayden Garcia-Linville, Luciano (Lucky) Garcia, and David Garcia Jr. He was preceded in death by his Father, Ignacio Garcia and Mother, Maria Luisa Garcia-Bernal and Father-In-Law, David Marquez
I am free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following paths God made for me I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play Tasks left undone must stay that way I found my peace... at close of play
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened... deep with sorrowI wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savoured much Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wants me now…
He set me free.
