Carlos R. Gonzales, Jr.

Carlos Reyes Gonzales, Jr., 75, of Waco passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at Puente and Sons Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas, with Bro. James A. Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, San Antonio. Carlos “El Bebe” was born February 18, 1937, in Asherton, Dimmit Co., Texas, to Carlos Lozano Gonzales and Leonor Reyes. Carlos grew up in Asherton and attended school in Carrizo Springs, Texas. He began his truck driving career at an early age, working for T.J. Powers and Company of Carrizo Springs. After marrying Pauline Cantu of Carrizo Springs, the young couple moved to San Antonio and he began driving for HEB, eventually being transferred to Waco. Throughout his career, he drove for General Tire, CX and Owens-Corning, logging over a million accident free miles. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Sigifredo R. Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Pauline C. Gonzales; two brothers; Raul R. Gonzales, Tomas Gonzales; six sisters; Rosa R. Casias, Viola R. Baiza, Janie R. Chapa, Betty Galindo, Brenda Dargas, and Diana Gonzales; nine children; son, Joe L. Gonzales and wife, Rose; son, James A. Gonzales and wife, Lynne; son, Carlos Gonzales and wife, Sylvia; daughter, Priscilla A. Gutierrez; daughter, Melisandra “Bambi” Garner and husband, Keith; daughter, Cynthia M. Jaramillo and husband, Ricardo; Roger M. Gonzales and wife, Maricel; Patrick Gonzales and wife, Gloria; son, Michael; 30 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 12 nieces, nine nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Gonzales, James Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Patrick Gonzales, Ricardo Jaramillo, and Keith Garner.
