Casey Zertuche Porter

Casey Zertuche Porter passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011, due to brain cancer. Casey was 30 years of age when God took her home to her resting place. Casey is a former graduate of Converse Judson High School where she was an honor student and a member of the Rockets softball team. Casey graduated Summa Cum Laude. After graduation, she headed up to Austin where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Texas. While attending UT she served as an editor of the prestigious Daily Texan. Casey graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2004. After leaving 40 acres, Casey made the decision to continue her education. She attended The University of the Incarnate Word where she earned a Masters of Arts Administration Sports Management with distinction. On November 29, 2008, Casey married her high school sweetheart, Jeffery Porter and became a mother to his son, Kayden. Casey worked at Muzak where she worked her way up to become the Marketing Relations Manager. Casey is survived by her husband Jeffery Porter and son Kayden, along with her parents, Robert and Sylvia Zertuche; sister Evelyn Zertuche-Roman; brother Scott Zertuche; brother and sister-in-law Blue and Jamie Zertuche; and nieces Alexzandra and Claudia Roman.
