Cecilia Wehner

May 16, 1947 — June 4, 2018

Cecilia Wehner, age 71, was born in Mexico City, Mexico D.F. on May 16, 1947 and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 4, 2018. She was a Native Spanish speaker who self taught in English, these accolades earned her in 2007 a dual citizenship. Her passion for reading empowered her knowledge in various subjects. Cecilia discontinued her work as a Care Provider at St. Anthony’s after 20 years to enjoy life and focus on her health. She was a four time cancer survivor, and became a member of the Diva Program. She always showed her pride, and support by her involvement in the Susan B. Komen, “Walk for Cure,” charity. She diligently practiced meditation, Tai chi and walked along the Riverwalk, and the Missions. She never wavered as a Spurs fan, even through her illnesses she never forgot and found the will to cheer the San Antonio Spurs. She embraced the culture & history of San Antonio. Her favorite Mexican Artist was Frida Kahlo, and had admired her beliefs and determination in her life struggles. She was so full of life and was always willing to help others. A devoted wife, mother, step-mother, (in whom she loved her children very much),grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend. She was always a breath of fresh air and was known for her sense of humor, smiles and laughs. She could lift anyone’s spirit with her bright and cheery personality just like the sunflowers she loved. Because of whom she was, we will never forget her and will always keep her memory alive. Cecilia is preceded in death by her father Andres Torres Mendez and siblings, Celia and Guadalupe. Survived by her husband of 35 years, Matthew Wehner Jr.; Mother, Maria Navarro Montelongo and Stepfather, Alfonso H.
