Charles David “Sam” Carroll was born June 29, 1955 in Denton, Texas to Billy G. and Mary Anne (Boyles) Carroll of Argyle, Texas. He entered heaven on November 10, 2019. He was married to Charlene Bomer Fletcher Carroll for 25 years.
He graduated Denton High School in 1973 and attended the University of North Texas. In 1977 he joined the Argyle Fire Department to devote his time until 1993. He worked as a machinist for many years until illness allowed him to devote himself to his cats. He loved them dearly! He loved music, traveling, and helping his wife choose her quilting fabric.
Sam is survived by his wife Charlene of San Antonio; mother Mary Anne Carroll of Argyle; brother William Patrick (“Pat”) Carroll of Ponder; sister Cynthia Anne Kelley of Argyle; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and friends. Sam was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Annie H. and James Alton Boyles of Argyle.
Sam loved animals and they were drawn to him and he particularly loved his cats. The family suggests sending memorial contributions to Helotes Humane Society. https://hhsanimals.org/
