Charles Harpel

Charles Harpel passed from this life October 5, 2011 at the age of 87. He was born in Pueblo, CO, and died in San Antonio, TX. He is survived by his sons, Gary Harpel of Durango, CO, Greg Harpel of San Antonio, TX, Dick Burchett of Little Rock, AR; daughter, Joan Goolsby of Security, CO; sister, Barbara Welch, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; his special friends, Adeline Marcucci, Jerry Miller, and Dan Sheets. Mr. Harpel is preceded in death by wife of 19 years Charlotte Gwartney, and wife of 25 years Gloria Stubblefield. Charles graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1942, served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII, retired after working at the CF&I Steel Mill for 35 years, and was active for many years with the Sundowner’s Camping Group (NCHA), ELKS, and EAGLES Fraternal Orders.

A Memorial Service will be at the First Baptist Church, Ninth and Grand Ave., Pueblo, Colorado.
