Charles Pepper passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in Schertz, Texas, at the age of 85. Born on October 30, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Charles filled his life with warmth, laughter, and a deep sense of community. He was a proud retiree of the US Air Force dedicating years of his life to serving his country.
Charles had an infectious spirit that drew people to him. He truly cherished the moments spent gathering with his friends and family, believing in the power of connection, always making space for laughter and love. His hobbies included bowling, a pursuit that brought him joy and camaraderie, allowing him to bond with others over friendly competition and shared triumphs.
He leaves behind a loving family that will carry his memory forward. His devoted spouse, Nenita Pepper, stood by his side throughout their years together, nurturing a partnership filled with love and support. He was a caring father to his children: Rose (John) Margetson, Sandra (Baldo) Cantu, Charles W., and Charles R., who will forever hold dear the lessons he imparted and the love he showered upon them.
Charles is also survived by his cherished sisters, Sharon (Richard) Enstminger and Judy (Steven) Zyla, who shared countless memories of childhood adventures and family gatherings. His legacy continues through numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored and encouraged to embrace the world with open hearts.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Julius and Donna Pepper, and his daughter, Myrna Conner, whose absence must be felt deeply in the hearts of those left behind. Additionally, he mourned the loss of his nephew, Anthony Battuello, a reminder of how precious and sometimes fleeting life can be.
A graveside service to honor Charles Pepper's life will be held on March 12, 2025, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, beginning at 10:15 AM. As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of this devoted family man, friend, and patriot, we remember the laughter, the love, and the legacy he leaves behind-a legacy built on kindness, camaraderie, and the celebration of family.
