June 27, 1936 — September 6, 2023

Charlotte Margarete Töpfer Sumner, a proud German woman who embraced the American dream, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on June 27, 1936, in Stuttgart, Germany, and her journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Charlotte's early life was filled with challenges, as she tragically lost both of her parents at a young age. However, she faced adversity with remarkable strength and determination, laying the foundation for a life defined by love and warmth. Above all, Charlotte was a loving mother to her twin daughters, Karen and Charlotte.

She found immeasurable joy and fulfillment in her role as a grandmother to Christopher, Sarah, Alexander, Alan, Rebecca, and Vanessa. Her heart was swelled with pride as a great grandmother to Alessandra, Analisa, Brooklynn, Cristiano, Aemiliano, Madelyn, Piper, and Isabella. Her family was her greatest source of happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Charlotte was the quintessential grandmother, embodying all the warmth and love the title implies. Her home was a haven filled
with the comforting aroma of her homemade meals and the delicious treats she baked every Christmas, a tradition she upheld until the very end. Her love, care, and culinary delights brought generations of family members together, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In addition to her immediate family Charlotte is survived by her beloved nephews in Germany: Oliver Hausman and Martin Cramer, and Christof Cramer. The bond of family extended across continents, and Charlotte's love and connection reached far and wide.

Charlotte Sumner's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the enduring power of family bonds. She leaves behind a family united by her love, and her memory will continue to be a source of inspiration and comfort for generations to come.
