Clara Hero Ramos was born on October 20, 1947 in Manhattan, New York. She lived with her Cuban-American parents and two brothers in the Bronx for most of her childhood until their move to Miami where she graduated high school. While an active member of her church community, she met her forever love, Sergio. After a short engagement, the pair married and started their family together in Fort Lauderdale. Clara was a dedicated mother to Debbie, Richard and David. After the family moved to Orlando, she started her journey to become an elementary school teacher. Teaching was a passion as well as being a grandmother to her beautiful grandchildren Nicolette, Izabella, Alex, Charlie, Gabriel and Rafiel and a great grandmother to Francesca. Clara also enjoyed cooking traditional Cuban dishes, bringing together friends and family and she always found a way to give thanks to God for all her many blessings. Anytime you dropped by her home, you were sure to be served a fresh pot of Cuban coffee and a laugh or two as well. After her battle with liver disease, Clara passed away surrounded by family on September 29th. Knowing that she remained steadfast in her faith throughout her lifetime, provides us comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing in the eternal presence of our Lord & Savior. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 20th at 6pm at Northern Hills UMC in the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, Clara requested donations be sent to the Ministry Center campus – La Roca ministry.
