Connie M. Bixby

onnie Minerva Bixby, born on August 23, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas was called upon to be with the Lord on November 7, 2018 at the ageof 61. She is preceded in death by her father Robert DeLeon Tavarez, husband Edward Bixby and her mother Consuelo Villarreal.She is survived by her children Antonio Maradiaga and wife Kim Maradiaga, Sonia Maradiaga, Benjamin Maradiaga, and Veronica Cavazos and husband David Jonathan Cavazos; grandchildren BrettJr., Kayla, Mark Anthony, Ethan, Legolas, Jasmine, and David; numerous extended family and many loved friends.Connie Bixby or “Ma” as she was lovingly known by her children, was a very passionate mother who loved all her kids and grandkids. She had a wonderful heart of gold and would always place her needs after others. Despite many years of health ailments, she had a tremendously hopeful and positive attitude in life. Her infectious smile and fierce warrior’s Spirit gave her the strength to face any hardship or joyous moment she faced. Her love for the Lord made her active in church throughout her life and spent numerous years in ministry. Ma was a huge influence to others’ lives and could humble anyone with her infectious outlook on life. She traveled to many places such as New York City, Germany, many U.S. states and Honduras several times. She loved all types of Christian music and also loved going to parks and zoos with her children. Her cheerful giving heart blessed many lives, from her grandkids to church members to her beloved children.A celebration service will be held at her church, El Centro, Monday November 12, 2018 at 7pm in the evening. Service will be directed by Reverend David Jonathan Cavazos along with thoughtful words from close family and friends.
