Consuelo R. Cruz

Consuelo R. Cruz (aka Connie) was called home by Our Lord on Friday March 27, 2015 at the age of 71, while surrounded by her family. She had several bouts with cancer and finally succumbed to it. She was born in Taylor, TX on April 29th, 1944 to Ynez C. and Carolina R. Cruz. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Norberto and Mercedes Robledo; beloved Aunt Patty Robledo; beloved nephew, R. Cris Castaneda. Connie was given the great task of helping her siblings since her mother passed away. Connie was 16 at the time and her two youngest sisters, were ages 3 and 1-1/2. She was also a caregiver to her dad, grandparents, her Aunt Patty as well and cared for two grand nieces. Most of her working life, she was a seamstress. She enjoyed baking, especially cakes, her tamales were the best and she was always the life of the party at family gatherings. She will be greatly and forever missed by her brothers and sisters, Arthur Cruz, Alfred Cruz, Christina C. Castaneda (Richard), Suzanna C. Barbosa, and Cynthia C. Murphy (Ed), 4 nieces , 2 nephews and, 5 grand nieces, 1 grandnephew, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Rosary at 6:30 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels-Northeast, 14315 Judson Road, San Antonio, TX 78233 (210)-653-6536.

Family wishes to thank Merida Hospice Care, Juanita Lozano, RN and Harry McGuyer, HHA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
