Cris Lee Hall

It’s no surprise to anyone who knew him, Cris Lee Hall, went down fighting!  At 72, liver cancer finally claimed his body, but his spirit remained strong until he drew his last breath on May 12 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 23, 1948, in Jamestown, NY, but moved to Corpus Christi, TX, with his parents and older brother at the age of 2. He wasn’t born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could!

He graduated from Corpus Christi Ray High School in 1966. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1974. Due to his chosen career field, he was forced to serve on multiple unaccompanied tours of duty to “exotic” places -- like Libya and Alaska!

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Jane and Jack Hall, and his older brother, Craig. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hall and his 4 children, his daughter, Sabra Hall Robinson and her family from, Corpus Christi, TX; his son, Mark Hall and his wife Erika and their family in Grapevine, TX; plus two (2) “bonus-sons,” Anthony Sierer and his wife Janice and their family in St. Charles, MO; and Casey Sierer and his wife Michelle and their family in San Antonio, TX; his younger brother, Jeff Hall and his wife Marsha and their family of Garland, TX; his youngest brother Jerry Hall and his wife Sylvia and their family of Salem, AL and Betty Hall, the widow of his older brother Craig Hall, and their family in San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a wide variety of friends.

The beach at Corpus Christi was his favorite weekend “getaway”. Having been raised in Corpus, he was an avid swimmer, fisherman and in his prime, a “pretty good surfer!” Cris and Phyllis met on that beach in June of 1996 and were married on Valentine’s Day in 1997. He loved to play golf and enjoyed 9-pin bowling. One of his favorite pass times was a leisurely round of golf with Casey and Tony at the Willow Springs or Brackenridge
Golf Course.

Cris loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Oh, the dinners he prepared! He would begin planning his menu about a month in advance. Shop for everything the week before. Plan step-by-step when to cook what dish in order to have everything ready by 2:00 pm. That’s when his buddy, John, would drop by and he and Cris would carve 2 fried turkeys. This was their tradition 12+ years. It was nothing for him to cook for 20-30
people every year. Anyone that didn’t have a place to go or a meal with their family, was welcome at his table.

But his absolute passion was hunting. Aside from the beach, his favorite place in the world was his hunting lease! He spent the last 17 hunting seasons on a lease in Pleasanton, TX with his best friend, John Boehme. Cris and Phyllis and John were “The 3 Musketeers” for many years, enjoying numerous road trips and escapades together. In John’s tearful words at Cris’ passing, “Cris is going on a road trip without us and we can’t go with him this time!”
Cris may have left us behind, but we’re secure in the knowledge that he has finally found peace, is at rest, is pain-free and is safe in the arms of our Lord!

Christopher Hall, 1602 Thousand Oaks, San Antonio, TX from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A catered meal will be
provided from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
