On December 4, 2016, Deborah Garcia Salinas entered into eternal life won by Christ Jesus her Savior. She was 52. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 19, 1964. Her spiritual life began at Principe de Paz UMC where she was baptized into Christ soon after she was born. It was also there that she met her future husband of 32 years, Lionel. Once married, they found their new spiritual home at Cornerstone Church where they have been active members for over 25 years.
After graduating from Judson High School, she began her career as a paralegal and loved her job at USAA for 26 years. Her greatest accomplishments were her husband and two amazing sons, David and Michael who brought her joy every day. She was always proud of "her boys". Debbie touched the lives of everyone she met. There was happiness and joy to her spirit that made you feel comforted and loved. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, travel, read her Bible, and play her piano. She opened their home to many, lived life to the fullest, and loved deeply. She was a devoted Christian who loved to share the Word of God, listen to worship music, and was a strong prayer warrior.
Debbie is preceded in death by her grandparents Jesus and Guadalupe Garcia, Margarito and Olivia Rodriguez, Uncle and Aunt Robert and Diamond Rodriguez, and her cousin Mariselda. She leaves behind her devoted husband Lionel, her sons David and Michael, her father Lee Garcia, mother Alice Baldarrama and her husband Ricardo, her sister Deanne and her children, mother in law Hermila Ortiz, father in law Juan Salinas, sister in law Jema and her children, brother in laws Johnny, Marcos and his children, Mark, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Cornerstone Church, 18755 Stone Oak Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78258. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Kidney Cancer Association or a Gideon Bible Memorial will be available at the service. The family would also like to thank the staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Gentiva Hospice, and all the doctors, nurses, and home care providers who helped to make her and the family comfortable.
