Diana Cavazos Lawler went to meet her Lord on Thursday, January 24, 2013. She was born and raised in Alice, TX. She moved to San Antonio in her 20s. Diana became a graphic illustrator for the United States Air Force at Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City, TX. She was very gifted artist and created everything from ink drawings to animated videos for her clients. Diana was preceded in death by her husband Harry Thomas Lawler III, her grandson, Dylan Thomas Downs, and her sister, Juanita Salinas. She is survived by her daughter and family, Derek and Sharon Downs with children Claire, Isaac, Samuel, and Emma, her brother and his family, Juan and Connie Cavazos of McAllen, her sister, J. Idolina Cavazos residing in San Antonio, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In additional, she had great friendships new and old. Diana was a prayer warrior and belonged to several prayer groups. While living in San Antonio, she was a member of the Guadalupanas. In Dallas, she was involved with the St. Gerard Circle, Our Lady of Grace Circle, Our Lady of Schoenstadt group, the Holy Face devotion group, and daily mass with rosary and divine mercy chaplet. Her deep faith and desire to minister to others was apparent, especially when she wore her Jesus broach. She told her daughter once, If just one person thinks about Jesus for one second because they saw my pin, then it was worth it. Dallas services were held on Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday, January 30 at All Saints Catholic Church.
