Donald Richard Hurley

March 9, 1935 — April 9, 2019

In loving memory of Donald Richard Hurley, 84, who was called home on April 9, 2019. Richard was born March 9, 1935 in Parma Idaho.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Hurley, by his son David Hurley, and daughters Julie Gahwyler and Lori Hurley. He is survived by his sons Don (Greta) Hurley and Danny Hurley, daughters Kathy Hurley and Cindy (Kevin) Beckstead, 19 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Richard was a long time resident of Provo, Utah having taught in the health science department for 29 years at Brigham Young University. Our dad had such a love for his BYU Cougars especially for the football program. The color “Red” was pretty much banned in his presence during football season. Richard was late to the stadium if warm-ups had already started. If he wasn’t one of the first people in the stands he was “late again”.

Richard was a convert of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. He served in many capacities with in the church and loved to serve whenever he was able. Richard and Sandra served the Lord on three full-time missions and several service missions. Richard‘s greatest joy came when he was serving with Sandra at his side.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25th @ 11AM at the Grandview 14th Ward Chapel, 1122 North Grandview Ave., Provo, UT.
