Doris Diane Millstid

Doris Diane (Gillmore) Millstid - Bunny to all who knew her - was born November 5,1944 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Lloyd and Doris Gillmore. She died peacefully on April 1, 2020, surrounded in love by her family.

As a child of an Army officer, Bunny spent her childhood moving to many places, including Hawaii and Alaska (her favorite) until finally settling in San Antonio, TX. She worked at Roosevelt High School in the Counseling office from the mid 80’s until her retirement in 2003. During her time at Roosevelt, she made many lifelong friends and was a favorite among both the students visiting the office as well as the aides working in the office.

Bunny dedicated her life to her family and was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved making her home a beautiful, welcoming one and her family often thought she should be an interior decorator. She adored shopping, gardening, attending church, gathering with loved ones and most of all spoiling her grandchildren. Bunny had the most beautiful smile and it was rare to see her without it lighting up her face. She loved everyone she met and never had an unkind word to say.

Bunny is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband and love of her life, Roger Millstid; children, Michael Gardner and wife, Michelle, April De La Cruz and husband, Ulises, stepdaughter Tanja Jameson and husband, Steve, Bryan Millstid and wife, Akemi. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Steven Bueno, Mark Bueno (Grace Mattson), Bailey Via, Chipper Via, Sierra Millstid, Quenton Millstid, Erica Millstid, Presley Gardner and Karena Millstid. In addition she is survived by her most loving sister Linda Eldridge (Robert), nieces Tammy James (Scott), Debby Moczygemba (Brian) and many great nieces and nephews who she adored - Amber, Austin, Justis, Shelby, Lindsey, Taylor and Aubrey, great-niece and nephew Emmy and Josh– Bunny leaves behind many loving friends and neighbors, and her loyal companion to the very end, Gizmo.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. If you wish to make a contribution in her honor, Bunny and her family welcome donations to either the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
