Dorthy Marie Leyendecker

Dorthy went to be embraced by her heavenly Father peacefully. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Gertrude Bass and her brother Charles (Buddy) Bass. She is survived by her brother James Bass (June), daughter Mary Ann Hayden (Ernie) and her son Clifford Leyendecker. Grandchildren Patrick Jenkins, Kimberly Jenkins, Eric Leyendecker, Kristen Pawlyk, Amanda Leyendecker, and Jennifer Gipson. Also, Gregory, Stacey and Serena Hayden. She had eight great-grandchildren.

Dorthy graduated from St. Mary’s in 1949. She retired after 30 years at GMAC and spent another 31 years volunteering at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital. She also volunteered at Colonies North Elementary and Stinson Middle School for many years. She dedicated years of hours of adoration at St. Matthews Church.

She was a brave, strong, loving, independent woman. She had a full life and did things her way. Mom raised kind and loving children and loved her family deeply. She was a devoted servant to God and Church.
