Douglas Gary Rodriguez

Doug Rodriguez, a lifelong resident of San Antonio and brilliant telecom specialist, left us unexpectedly on August 19th, 2017 at the age of 62.

Doug is survived by his beloved mother Bernice Rodriguez, his children Deserai (Desi) Mosmeyer and husband Michael, son Dustin Rodriguez and girlfriend Jenna. Grandchildren Mckenna, Cash, Brendan, Christopher, Samantha, and Gabby. Sister Gladys Aguilar, niece Sharron, nephew Jake, great nephews and nieces Hunter, Colton, Taylor, and Adrianna.
Doug was preceded in death by his father Rudy Rodriguez and brother in law Julian Aguilar.

Douglas Gary Rodriguez was born on Oct. 20, 1954 to Rudy and Bernice Rodriguez. He attended high school at Luther Burbank and graduated in ’74 with several people who would be life-long friends. He began his career in the beer distributing industry, but found his way into telecommunications where he found his calling and true industry passion, as well as friendships that would last forever. He welcomed his daughter in July of ’81 and his son in May of ’85, who were the most important part of his life from then on.

During his life, Doug was a devoted father and absolute adoring grandfather as well as an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling to many places near and far. But, spending time with family and friends, watching grandchildren play and hearing family laugh was the highlight of his later life. Doug was a true problem solver who was never afraid to take on projects for work, friends or others in need, or just around the house. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. His legacy will live on through the priceless memories he left with anyone who ever worked aside him, and on the sparkling waters anywhere the fish are biting.

Services for Doug will be held at Community Bible Church at Gold Canyon & 1604 on Wednesday, August 30 at 10 A.M. in the worship center on the 2nd floor in room E222. A celebration of Doug’s life and lunch will be held following service at location TBA.
