Dr. Herbert Ira Garfield

Herbert I. Garfield, age 80 of Dilley, died on Friday February 2, 2018. He was born on May 4, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York preceded by Lou Garfield and Rose Garfield. He is survived by wife Lourdes Garfield, his sons; Alexander Garfield, Phillip N. Garfield and Herbert Isaac Garfield, daughters; Laurie Garfield Johnson, Adelina R. Garfield, Pilar L. Garfield, Mirell Alexis Valdez, and Celia G. Aboytia-Aranda Two Grandchildren; Alexandria Darby of Atlanta, Georgia and Gage Garfield of San Antonio.
He was a Physician in the following areas: Dilley, Pearsall, and Cotulla. Loved by all his patients, friends and family. He gave his life to his profession in order to honor what he loved. He was ranked as a Major in the Army and retired with honors.
Viewing will be held on February 8, 2018 from 10am-8pm at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels 3520 S. Flores St in San Antonio, Texas 78204 with the Rosary at 6:30pm. Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dilley, Texas 78017 on February 15, 2018 at 10am. His resting place will be held at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas on February 26, 2018 at 1:00pm.
