Earl William Logan Jr., age 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Paris, IL on July 6, 1942 to the late Earl William Logan Sr. and Joan Dawson Logan.
Earl began his career with the United States Navy in 1959, serving in the Vietnam War. Decorated with many medals, achievements and honors, he retired from the Navy in 1979. He settled in San Antonio, TX and began a career working for the United States Post Office until his retirement in 2003.
He will be lovingly remembered by his adoring wife of 33 years, Maria Ortiz Logan; sons: William Richard Logan, and Timothy Earl Logan; his daughter Kristine Logan Rego, and her husband Christopher; his brothers Ronald Logan and wife Laurel, and Stephen Logan and wife Charlotte; 2 grandchildren and 1 grandchild on the way.
Cemetery:
Immediately following with be a Graveside Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. in which full military honors will be performed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society South Texas Chapter at 431 Isom Road Suite 125, San Antonio, Texas 78216.
Service:
A Mass will be celebrated in honor of Earl on Tuesday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas.
