Edelmira R. Mendez

Edelmira R. Mendez was born in Saltillo, Mexico on August 14, 1922 to Salvador and Guadalupe Rubio and passed from this life at the age of 93 on September 19, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and dear friend, Grace De La Rosa. She is survived by her daughter, Norma I. Mendez; son, Marko A. Mendez and his wife Judy; granddaughters, Mara Irene Martinez and her husband Anthony, Lauren Alyse Mendez; great grandchildren, Selina Michelle Vaughan and Marissa Ilene Vaughan; numerous nieces and nephews. Edelmira was a fun loving person that lived life to the fullest, even in recent months. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and loved to travel. Edelmira enjoyed listening to music, singing, watching wrestling and boxing and she especially enjoyed being with her family. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1940 and went on to do retail sales while raising her two children. Donations to the Salvation Army, in her memory, are greatly appreciated.
