Edgar J. Hernandez

On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, Edgar J. Hernandez, loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend gained his wings at the age of 46.

Edgar was born on May 30, 1974 in Laredo, TX to Jesus and Maria del Socorro Hernandez. He received a Criminal Justice Bachelorette degree from Texas A&M International University. He worked for and devoted 20 outstanding years of service to the Federal Judiciary at the George P. Kazen Federal Building, United States District Court, Southern District of Texas - Laredo Division.

Edgar had a love for writing. He could write a three page email just to say hello, but his true passion was music. He was an avid guitar player and loved to perform in front of a crowd whenever a chance was given. Anyone who knew him well can listen to the song Black by Pearl Jam and his presence will be felt. He was known for his kindness, quick wit, sense of humor, and infectious smile. Family was everything to him.

Edgar was preceded in death by his father, Jesus “Chucho” Hernandez. He is survived by his mother, Mary “Coquis” Hernández, his sister Claudia and brother-in-law Nino, his “twin” Mel, and his “Big Brother” Al, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his Godson.

A Celebration of Edgar’s life will be held at a later date. Information will be provided as it becomes available.
