Edgar Lenz

Edgar was called home on June 29th, 2022. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home with his wife and son by his side.
He was born Feb. 24th, 1942 in San Antonio, TX and married Nov. 24th, 1965 at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in San Antonio.
Edgar is survived by his beloved wife Jane, of 57 years, and son Michael. Grandchildren Sloane and Felix, and Daughter-in-law Catherine.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edgar and Louisa, and his sister, Helen.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always making time to share his love of nature and the outdoors with those close to him. He enjoyed fishing, and taking care of the cattle; chickens; goats; donkeys; turkeys’ and of course, dogs on his ranch.
He had a passion for tending to the garden and cultivating plant life of all kinds, always knowing just what the weather was about to do next.
Edgar was intentional and always a perfectionist, never beginning a project he wouldn’t finish with everything he had.
The holidays held a special place I his heart and getting to spend time and celebrating with his family brought his so much joy.
He had a lifelong career as an architectural; civil; structural designer, with various engineering firms in Houston, including Boeing in Dallas where he was a Cadd Design Manager.
The Memorial Service will be Sunday, July the 10th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it will be held at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels on Judson Road in San Antonio.
On July 11th, Edgar will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Guests will be asked to gather at Puente and Sons Funeral Home at 12:15 PM, and proceed to the burial site at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road in San Antonio, TX.
The family prefers to wear masks, however, it’s up to each guest to decide what they are most comfortable with.
