Elida D Hernandez

Elida Hernandez, a beloved matriarch and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, in Pleasanton, Texas, at the age of 85. Born on March 10, 1939, in Seguin, Texas, Elida's life was a testament to her unwavering love for family and her steadfast spirit.

Elida was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Raymond Hernandez. Their love story was one of the cornerstones of her life, filling her days with joy and comfort. She is also reunited in spirit with her parents, Jose Duran and Juanita C. Duran, her sister Lucia Aguilera, as well as her cherished son-in-law, Jesus Peña, and two beloved great grandsons, Samuel and Charles. Additionally, she holds in her heart the memory of her granddaughter, Bianca, who has also passed away.

She leaves behind a legacy that shines brightly in the hearts of her living family. She is survived by her son, Felix Hernandez, and his wife, Deborah; her daughters, Josefina Peña, Anna Castillo and her husband, Paul, and Jeanette Moya and her husband, Orlando; her brothers, Jose and Roy Duran; and her sisters, Janie Martinez and Lilly Trinidad, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Elida's family was her pride and joy, and her greatest happiness was found in the laughter and love shared with her grandchildren.

Elida cherished her time spent caring for her chickens and dogs, finding peace in the simple joys they brought her. The melodies of music filled her home, creating a backdrop for countless cherished moments with her family. Elida's nurturing spirit extended to all around her, always putting the needs of others before her own, and her gentle touch will be profoundly missed.

A visitation will be held in her honor on February 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, located at 626 Market Street, Pleasanton, TX. A prayer service will take place the same evening at 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather once more for a Mass celebrating Elida's life on February 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
