Elida Maldonado known to all who knew and loved her as “Mrs. Ellie”passed from this life December 30, 2011. She was a native Texan born in Devine November 21, 1941. Mrs. Maldonado earned her degree in Mortuary Science and practiced for the past 30 years as a licensed funeral director and embalmer where she had the privilege to serve hundreds of families in our community. She also served as a mentor to many students seeking a career as morticians. Mrs. Ellie took pride in her yard that she allowed others to enjoy as a neighborhood park. She loved cooking for family, her friends, co-workers and was known to help anyone in need. She will be truly missed by everyone. She is survived by her loving husband of over 48 years, Carlos Maldonado; her son Bill (Susan) Maldonado; her daughters, Mary (Massoud) Moezzi, Sandra Kelso, and Rebekah (Matt) Maldonado-Holder; 3 sisters, Annie, Toni, and Andrea; 4 grandchildren, Christopher and Kayvon Moezzi, Aberdeen Holder, and Charlotte Maldonado; and a host of friends.
Cemetery:
It was Mrs. Ellie's wish to be cremated.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Puente Sons Funeral Chapels – Northeast. Family will begin receiving guest at 6pm with a Holy Rosary at 7pm.
