Elisa Martinez

Elisa Chavana Martinez passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, at the age of 96. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Beloved great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and friend, she will deeply be missed by those who knew her.

Elisa was born July 28, 1928, in Lytle, TX. She was the daughter of Jesus Chavana and Elena Saucedo Chavana. Known for her big heart, she was loving, caring and always giving to anyone in need. As the matriarch, she was the “Rock” of the Martinez family. She was the source of unwavering support and dedication to her family. She loved to make homemade meals, watch her novellas, go antique shopping, and spend time with her cherished dog Gracie.

Proceeded in death by her loving husband Espiridion Martinez of 66 years of marriage and son Espiridion David Martinez Jr, sisters Mercei, Tomasa, Josephina, Hermila, Ortencia, and brothers Juan, Gustavo, Jesus Jr., and Raul.

She is survived by daughters Melinda Herald, Helen Martinez, and Elisa Anna Martinez. Sons Benjamin Martinez and Tony Martinez. Grandchildren Jessica A. Garcia, Felisha A. Garris, Amy Herald, Amanda Herald, David Martinez and wife Kayla Martinez, Joshua Rodriguez, Bailey Shanahan, Brendan Shanahan, Nicole Clara Sustaita. Great Grandchildren Kaison R. Flores, Nicholas B. Vargas, Grace Morales, Glory Morales, Zoe Sustaita, Zane Sustaita, and KathyGrace Palacios.

Elisa Martinez will forever live in our hearts and will be missed tremendously.
