Emojean “Emmy” Rose Kraft Molinar, 37, of San Antonio, TX passed away on March 25, 2023, in the loving presence of her family after fighting a courageous year-long battle with gallbladder/bile duct cancer. Born on October 9, 1985, in Waco, TX, Emmy was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend, chemist, DJ, and more to so many!
She is survived by her son, Elijah Molinar [Mark Molinar, his dad], parents, Michael and Linda Kraft, siblings, Alice Cortes [Gerard Cortes], Jenni Batchelder [Grant Batchelder], and Michael Kraft, niece, Luna Cortes, nephews, Gerard Sol “Sunny” Cortes and Frederico Emilio Batchelder, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded by her grandparents, Emogene Kraft Née McNally, Charles Kraft, Teresa Kraft, Raymond Huerta, and Isabel Huerta, her cousin, Alexandra McKown, her dear friend, Lance Rodriguez, and her pets, Cookie, Pebbles, and Moonshine.
Emmy was an avid learner of the sciences and after receiving her Bachelor of Science in chemistry with a minor in biology from the University of Texas San Antonio. She later began working at DPT Laboratory where she developed many strong friendships! In 2021, Emmy began her journey toward her Master’s in Regulatory Science at the University of Maryland, and even through her cancer treatments, she was able to achieve her graduate certificate in the spring of 2022.
Emmy was a passionate music lover and DJ of drum and base. Her talent and love of music brought joy to many, and she was known for her eclectic taste and ability to get people on the dance floor. Emmy was dedicated to her faith and was a member of Prince of Peace Church. She will be remembered for her for her genuine love and care for others, sweet smile, intelligence, friendship, and many fun memories!
She was a devoted mother to her son Elijah, who meant more to her than anything in the world. She wrote to Elijah, “You are the strongest, bravest, smartest, best lil’ man I have ever ever ever met! I love everything about you. I mean everything - from inside and out! You are such a beautiful person!” Despite the challenges she faced, Emmy remained resilient and optimistic throughout her battle with cancer, and her love for Elijah never wavered. She was a fighter who inspired those around her with her strength and determination. Emmy will be deeply missed by all who know her.
A celebration of Emojean's life will be held at Raymond Rimkus Park (6440 Evers Rd, Leon Valley, TX 78238) on Saturday, October 7th from 5:00 – 7:30 pm. All who would like to be in community around the light that Emmy shined on this world are welcome!
