Ernestina Salaiz Carrillo

Ernestina Salaiz Carrillo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ernestina S. Carrillo, 84 went to the Lord on March 26, 2022.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, she is preceded in death by her parents Zaragosa and Irene Salaiz, her husband of sixty years Modesto Z. Carrillo; and sisters Maria Consuelo Aguilar and Natalia Guerra, brother Felix Salaiz. She leaves behind four children; Daniel S. Carrillo, Herminia De La Garza (David), Sylvia Marsh (Colby) and Irma Lopez (Joe Frank); Granchildren (6), Great-grandchildren (7); her siblings Alex S. Salaiz, Hermelinda Ibarra, Sarah Perez, Jesse Salaiz and Irene Casias; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernestina was a career educator, she was a longtime employee of Edgewood I.S.D., beginning in the late 1960’s until her retirement in 1994. She possessed a firm inner strength and was known for having a big heart. She was devoted to her family and students and loved everyone unconditionally. She was respected and admired by her colleagues and friends. She loved to travel, Mexican music, and gardening. Mother will be greatly missed but will be forever in our hearts.
