Mr. Puente is survived by his wife, Rose Marie and one child, Bernadette Puente-Renteria and her husband, Ricardo Renteria. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Rebecca Renteria, Adrianna Renteria, Sophia Renteria, and Adrian Renteria. Mr. Puente is also survived by one brother, Alfonso Puente and his wife Mary Louise, three sisters: Estella Devora and her husband Edward, Patsy Garcia and her husband Simon Sr., and Elia Flores, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Epimenio and Maria Regalado Puente, and three brothers: Eliseo (Joe) Puente, Daniel R. Puente, and Epimenio Manuel Puente, Jr. Mr. Puente was born on November 15th, 1944 and had a great outlook on life, retiring from PSP Monotech Industries in 2008 after 38 years of dedicated employment. Ernest also worked for NEISD as a school bus driver for 8 years before he was diagnosed with cancer the summer of 2014. Ernest was loved by all his NEISD co-workers and the kids that rode his bus route. The kids always provided Ernest with such joy, he would frequently tell stories about his daily experiences. Mr. Puente honorably served our great country as a Marine in the Vietnam conflict with one tour of duty from 1963 through 1967. Ernest was never one to boast about his service but was a proud Marine. He fought a good fight against cancer until the Lord called him home to finally rest in paradise. Semper Fi!
