Eugene Rodriguez

Eugene Rodriguez, a loving father, grandpa, friend, coach and lifelong sports enthusiast, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 57. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Gene leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Survived by his three daughters, Erin, Lauren, and Christina. His sisters, Cecilia and Catherine, Marissa (niece), Patrick (nephew), longtime girlfriend, Diane and her two children. Proceeded in death by his mother, Patricia Martinez Vielma. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

Gene's family and friends were the center of his universe. A sports aficionado, Gene played football in his youth and maintained lifelong friendships with his teammates from middle school and high school. His passion for sports never wavered, he enjoyed coaching his daughters when they were growing up and loved watching and attending games with friends and family. He was proud of his career as a butcher. His hobbies took him on exciting vacations, particularly Las Vegas and fishing trips, where he loved to unwind with a drink in his hand and make memories. Those who knew Gene will remember his outgoing and funny personality, kind heart, smile, and unwavering loyalty. His love, laughter and generosity inspired countless friendships that spanned over decades who were by his side until the very end.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his youngest daughter, Erin Rodriguez.
