Eva was born in Atongo de Abajo, México on July 18th, 1944. She was surrounded by the love of her parents Francisca Cano and Ernesto Trejo “Panchito”. Eva was always a hardworking child, very mature and disciplined. Instead of spending time with the regular games other kids played, Eva liked to spend time doing chores to help her mom. Nothing stopped her, not even her young age; she used a stool to wash dishes and making “cosas de grades”.
“Ya me voy parlao con mi papá”, she said every time she was told not to overload herself with adult tasks. She was disciplined, straightforward and firm, but inside her passion for serving others, her warmth was as strong as her will. She spoiled both of her babies Alejandro and Veronica; no matter how far she had to walk carrying her niño, she wouldn´t let him feel tired before school. Eva held Alejandro in her arms all the way from home to school and back, protecting, caring, giving unconditional love.
Eva wanted to finish her elementary school, but her visual and aural conditions made her feel limited, however, they did not stop her from being a hardworking mom who fought pursuing happiness for both of her children providing her not only what they need but much more.
Eva´s dedication was to her family, her children, her parents, and siblings. Endless hours on the phone with her sister Bertha, full of confidences, deep conversations, memories, and jokes made her always happy. Her love for her siblings Gloria, Enedelia, Quito, and Alicia (RIP) was unconditional and obliging.
Her last days at Alejandro´s house, she spent hours having conversations about the family, sharing memories of her grandchildren, cousins, and siblings. She kept every single one of you in the heart until her last day. Alejandro prayed for her, the last day on earth, if he could hear her mom again, he will hear her singing a song from her childhood: “Mío, mío, mío, Jesús es mío. Más blanco que la nieve brilló mi corazón”.
