Fernanda Martinez

May 30, 1921 — February 8, 2025

Fernanda Martinez, a beloved daughter of San Antonio, born on May 30, 1921, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025. At the age of 103, Fernanda's heart was as vibrant as the music she cherished, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.

Throughout her life, Fernanda was a true embodiment of joy and passion. She loved to sing and dance, her spirit shining brightly in every step and note. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence brought warmth to all who knew her. Her love for her faith was profound; she was a devoted member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, where she served diligently as a Guadalupana. Fernanda's commitment to her church and community was a testament to her generous heart and unwavering dedication.

Fernanda is survived by her cherished sister, Janie Castro, and her beloved nieces, Santa and Christina Castro. They hold precious memories close to their hearts, recalling the many joyous moments shared with her, who was not only a loving family member but also a source of inspiration and guidance.

She now joins her dear Parents Victoria and Luis Martinez, her sisters, Inez Lozano and Romana Martinez, and her only nephew James Lozano Jr., who preceded her in death. Fernanda's reunion with them will surely be filled with love and laughter as they reminisce about the beautiful lives they lived.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who had a part in caring for Fernanda. Your kindness and loving support have made a significant impact during this time. Especially her provider who has become a part of the family and we love dearly Maria Ruelas. The Altima Home Health staff, Nancy Garcia, her loving nurse Sandra Cruz, Stacy Saiz, Dalia Rodriguez-Ball, and Evelyn Stevens, her therapist Charles, Manuel and Larry.
