Gabriel Ryan Hinojosa

Gabriel Ryan Hinojosa, 34, of San Antonio, died July 21, 2020, as a result of natural causes due to COVID complications. He was born on November 26, 1985, in Corpus Christi, the son of David and Shelley (Reyes) Hinojosa. He attended St. Pius X Catholic School for elementary and Incarnate Word Academy for middle school and high school where he graduated in 2003. He attended Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi for college.

Gabriel was loving, light-hearted, and the life of every party. He enjoyed entertaining and having a good time. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and friends, and like his father, never disappointed anyone with his grilling abilities. He was a very loving son to his parents and a supportive brother. He was the very definition of a Funcle “fun uncle” to his niece and nephews. He was an avid lover of all animals and loved his dog Ace, who he lost 3 years ago, fiercely.

Gabriel is survived by his parents David and Shelley of Corpus Christi; his wife Rosie Ortiz and his step-children Annica and Joseph. He is also survived by his brother David Matthew Hinojosa and wife Beth, and their children Isabella, David Michael, and Christian Hinojosa (Godson) and close friends Chris Montgomery, Charlie Garcia, David Bayardo, Jordan Garcia, Giorgia Suarez, Bryan Fancher & Seth Crawford, and so many others. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Rodolfo and Olga Reyes and fraternal grandmother Eva Hinojosa.

Due to the number of positive COVID cases currently in Corpus Christi, we will be postponing the formal burial and Celebration of Life in Corpus Christi, which will be Gabriel’s final resting place.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made to an Established 529 College Savings Plan for Annica and Joseph through College America - Capital Group.
