George Carlos Alonzo, a beloved figure in the educational community, was born on April 23, 1968, in Dallas, Texas. He went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of kindness, hard work, and inspiration.
George dedicated the majority of his life to the field of education, where he found his true calling in assisting students from all walks of life. His passion for learning and commitment to helping others shone brightly throughout his career, embodying the essence of what it means to be an educator. His unwavering belief in the potential of every student was palpable; he saw challenges not as obstacles but as opportunities for growth, encouraging those around him to reach their fullest potential.
He was proud of his academic achievements, holding an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio. This educational foundation helped shape his approach to teaching and mentoring, enabling him to connect with students in profound ways. In addition to his educational pursuits, George also earned his real estate license, reflecting his diverse interests and skills.
Those who knew George often speak of his loving nature, hardworking spirit, and delightful sense of humor. He had an extraordinary ability to bring joy to those around him, often filling a room with laughter and lightness. His inspirational stories and words of wisdom touched the lives of many students and colleagues, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. He was very proud of his late father, a retired US Marine, who spent 20 years in the Marines. He was a proud Marine military brat.
In his personal life, George was committed to re-building his house, a reflection of his dedication and tenacity. This brought him close with his brother, as they embarked on this project together. This project not only showcased his hands-on approach but also symbolized his belief in creating spaces that foster love, warmth, and togetherness.
George was preceded in death by his father George Garcia Alonzo. He is survived by his mother Dolores H. Alonzo; brother Antonio H. Alonzo, sister-in-law June M. Alonzo; and relatives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Oklahoma, Arizona, and numerous relatives in San Antonio.
George will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration that will continue to impact future generations. His journey may have ended, but the lessons he imparted and the kindness he shared will forever resonate in the lives he touched. A true testament to a life well-lived, George Carlos Alonzo’s memory will remain cherished in the hearts of many. Rest in peace, dear friend.
