George Lee Clark, Sr. (78) of San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Loretta Nancy Clark on Sunday February 6, 2022 at Brooke Army Medical Center Hospital. George was born on August 22, 1942 and was the son of John Edward and Irene Mabel Clark of Ebensburg, PA. On November 11, 1961 he married his high school sweetheart Nancy. They were married for 59 years and raised two amazing young men.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, parents, his sisters Anita, Jessie, Ida Mabel, Mary Margaret, and brothers Ken and Jack.
He is survived by his sons George Lee Clark, Jr and wife Peggy of Converse, TX, and son Kevin Edward Clark and wife Irene of Monterrey, Mexico. Also survived by grandchildren Christopher Lee and wife Rebecca of Converse, TX; Allison Daye and Joshua of San Antonio, TX, Cody Lee and wife Caelin of Converse, TX, and Austin Edward of San Marcos, TX and Naysa, Esly, and Giselle of Monterrey, Mexico. Also survived by his great grandchildren Micayla, Alina, Autumn, Natalia, Wyatt. Also surviving are sisters-in-law MaryLou Diviney, Margie Diviney and brother-in-law Chris Croyle with many nieces and nephews.
George was a loving husband, outstanding father, special friend, beloved uncle, grandfather and great grandfather.
George settled in Schertz, TX after retiring from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in 1981. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved spending time with his boys and as they grew up he still spent as much time with them as he could.
He enjoyed going to see George, Jr. and his grandsons racing at the racetrack, no matter how they finished. George also loved going with his son Kevin to Pittsburgh Steelers football games (no matter if they won or lost) and was elated when he and Kevin attended the Super Bowl and watch the Steelers become the Super Bowl Champions. George loved attending any event that involved his grandchildren.
George enjoyed traveling back home to Pennsylvania and to Arizona, New York and Tennessee to visit family as often as possible.
He graduated from Blacklick Township High School in 1961 where he played on the football team and played in the band during half time.
As he leaves us to join the love of his life and family members who went before him, he will be missed terribly but will never be forgotten by those who love him.
Following a graveside service, George will be interred with military honors held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on March 3, 2022 at 11:15 a.m. For those who are unable to attend in person we have decided to Zoom it.
