Gerard L. Gavia was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 23, 1951 and passed away on April 6, 2022. He was a graduate from Trinity University. He worked for the San Antonio Light and H.E.B., but his life was not defined by these achievements; it was defined by family. On May 26, 1978, Gerard L. Gavia married Carmen Gavia and they enjoyed 43 wonderful, wonderful years together. He devoted his life to his two daughters, Lisa Gavia and Yvonne Ashbaugh. Gerard L. Gavia supported his girls in all aspects of life. He was also influential in the lives of his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Gerard L. Gavia loved the Texas coast, fishing, looking for sand dollars with his family, listening to music by the fire, and playing poker. His loving nature, sense of humor, and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him. Gerard L. Gavia is survived by his wife, Carmen Gavia, daughters, Lisa Gavia and Yvonne Ashbaugh, mother, Olga Gavia (age 96), brothers, Lionel Gavia and David Gavia and countless nieces and nephews.
