Gloria R. Rios

Gloria R. Rios born April 8, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas passed from this life on January 28, 2018 at the age of 78 years. She has been reunited with the love of her life and husband of over 50 years, Fernando Medina Rios; her parents, Abelardo and Aurora Ramos; her sisters, Sulema Ramos and Guadalupe Santana. She is survived by her children, Fernando Abel Rios, Rodney Eric Rios, Cynthia Ann Perez, Brenda Rios, Diana Teresa Rodriguez, and Aurora Valerie Vasquez; sisters, Olga Gutierrez and Margarita Ramos; her beloved grandchildren, Ben Rios, John Rios, Stephanie Perez, Joe Alan Davis III, Esme Rodriguez, Cassie Rodriguez, Liz Rodriguez, CeAna Vasquez, EmanuelJay "E.J." Vasquez, Aaron Parra and Adrian Vasquez; numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and good friends. We would like to thank her granddaughter, CeAna who assisted with caring for her grandmother throughout the years they lived together. In addition to her daughters Brenda and Valerie who assisted with making her last days here on earth comfortable and surrounded her with so much love. Lastly to Guiding Light Hospice, especially nurse Cindy and Chris; we will forever be grateful. We must not forget to mention Daisy, her four legged companion, and bedmate, who refused to leave her side, and still looks for mom till this day. Gloria was a simple lady who loved her children unconditionally and had faith in God. She enjoyed listening to Tejano and Mariachi music, attending church and going with the Senior Citizens, but mostly to be with her family. She loved to laugh, drink Cokes, not Cola's or RC's, but Original Coca Cola. She frequented local neighborhood restaurants, and was considered the go-to taqueria expert, she knew who had the best tacos, or who was the most expensive. Although Gloria suffered from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, it did not stop her from wanting to go to the “pedo”. These diseases may have taken our beautiful mother, but in return gave us beautiful memories that we will forever cherish in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
