Gordon, known as Toby to many, was born to Donald and Emily Petit Tobias of New York state in June of 1938. He grew up loving his ponies and horses at Tally Ho Stables. At a very young age he began his career in the United States Navy as a seaman. His career there spanned being a radioman, instructor and public speaker. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after over twenty years of proud service.
During this time he met his future bride while stationed in Bermuda and she was vacationing. Rosemarie and Gordon were married in Philadelphia in 1962. Their family grew as they welcomed four children, Karen Elizabeth, Christopher Scott, Lisa Marie and Michael Scott. Several states and overseas stations were home to them over the years.
Toby retired from the Navy and became the owner of Linrose Electronics and later Omega Scientific. He enjoyed his years as an independent business owner. He ended his working years in the United States Postal Service.
After retiring, Gordon spent his golden years with his greatest love, his wife Rosemarie. He spent his days with his horse, My Girl, his model trains, and his studies of the Bible. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; always there to offer help and advice.
Gordon has finally reached the destination he waited for-Heaven. He will be joining a big reunion with loved family and friends waiting to welcome him. He will be cremated according to his final wishes. When it is Rosemarie’s time to join the party, they will be scattered together.
